95 Days of Prayer
Date: Mon, Jan 18th, 2010 3:39:43 am

We are launching out into our 95th year of service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.   I am convinced that God planted this church in Ozona for one reason, to glorify His Son in this community.   We are here to work with God as He reveals His love and grace in and through us to the people of this community. That has been His calling for us since 1915.
As I have been praying for you and our church, God has led me to call us to a season of "focused prayer".  So I am asking everyone in our church to set aside time each day for the next 95 days (starting Jan. 1, 2010) and pray for the following:
* Ask God to forgive us of our sins and fill us with His Holy Spirit
*Pray that God will ignite a fresh new love for Him and His Will within each one of us
*Pick seven people that you will pray for each day during January and then pick seven others each month there after
*Pray for miracles of healing for those who are sick
*Pray for family members and others within our community who have not surrendered their life to Christ that they might be saved
*Pray asking God to bring a Spirit-filled revival within our church
*Pray for a Spiritual Awakening
*Worship and honor God during your time with the Lord each day
Please, consider this call from the Lord to pray a personal call from Almighty God.  I do, and I look forward to seeing all that God will be doing in the first 95 days of our 95th year here in Ozona.

Birth Announcement

  Birth Announcement
 from Eternity
Isaiah 9:6-7

*For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The
everlasting Father,  The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment
and with justice from henceforth even forever.  The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.*

What an incredible moment in life*the birth of a child!  A time filled with expectations, gratitude, and joy.  It is truly life changing, in more ways than we realize.  Often we will send out a birth announcement, telling everyone all the vital statistics (weight, date, name, who the proud parents are, etc.)  This only occurs after the birth of a child, never before*unless of course you are God.
God announced the birth of His Son, some 600 years before He was born.  He spoke through the words of the prophet Isaiah telling everyone whom they should expect.  All through the writings of Isaiah, God reveals much about the life of His Son.  He describes where He will be born, what He will be like, and what He will do in His lifetime on this earth.
This Christmas, take the time to read what God says about the birth of His Son (Isaiah, Matthew, & Luke).  Read the real Christmas story.  Re-discover Christ this Christmas and you will find the greatest gift of all!

Wait for the Lord
Date: Thu, Jun 4th, 2009 7:17:01 pm

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait on the Lord."  (Psalm 27:14)

Nearly 10% of Americans are unemployed and the number is increasing everyday. Less and less people have health insurance. Prices are going up on essential goods, home values are plummeting and our national debt is out of the roof. Trying to bring about a quick fix, politicians have chosen to spend our way out of our economic crisis. Many economists believe that we should allow our free enterprise system to work its way out of such problems we face rather than trying to manipulate the system. Waiting may not be such a bad idea, but for another reason.

Perhaps we should consider the advice of David, who was quite familiar with crisis in his life and the life of his country. David said that we should "wait for the Lord". It is a great way to encourage us to trust in God first and foremost. Many times our first reaction is to jump into our circumstances and fix the problem. There is great wisdom in "waiting" to see how God will move in any given situation. Prayer should always precede action if at all possible.

Untie the Lines...Push away from the dock!
Date: Mon, Feb 23rd, 2009 1:31:04 pm

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Prov. 3:5-6)

The weather is perfect and the winds are just right for a great day of sailing. So why are you reluctant to untie the lines and push away from the dock? Is it fear that you don't know enough about sailing to survive the trip? Or maybe you really don't have any idea where you are going? Could it be that tied to the dock, you know what life is like and out in open water, you are not sure what it might be like?

One thing is for sure, if you don't untie the lines and push away from the dock then the rest of the day, as well as all of your tomorrows will be just exactly like they were yesterday.

(KEY THOUGHT) We keep getting the same if we are not willing to change. BORING So, this is where we must make our first critical decision in our life. This is where we must decide if we are willing to take a risk or like so many others in life, just play it safe. This is where we must exercise one of the great gifts God has given everyone - faith. Let me make this easier for us. If we put our faith in God, we have nothing to fear. If we put our faith in ourselves and our abilities, we have much to fear.

Setting Sail for Open Water
Date: Thu, Feb 19th, 2009 7:30:01 pm

Welcome to LifeShare. We are setting sail for open water. We are actually leaving the harbor and setting sail on a journey of faith into the open waters of life. Should you decide you might want to join us on this journey, you might want to consider a few things.

This blog/journal is all about the life-journey that we share from the cradle to the grave. It is all about examining the course we have set for our life, the compass we choose for navigation, and clarifying our destination. We will consider the storms that we will face and how we might survive the worst of them. Our greatest consideration will be who we choose to pilot our boat and in whose hands we can trust our life.

You may want to write your own journal as you read through this blog. Writing your thoughts down in a journal is a great way to step outside of yourself and see your life from another perspective. You would be amazed at what you are able to see when you write a journal for several months.
